Practical Issues in Providing Effective Clinical Supervision
Monthly Webinar Series

Requirements: Participants are required to have 2 – 3 years experience as a clinical supervisor, currently working as a clinical supervisor and have had prior clinical supervision training.
This is the first in the Clinical Supervision Webinar Series, hosted by Central East ATTC and facilitated by Steven L. Gallon, Ph.D. These interactive Webinars will highlight issues of critical importance to the establishment and sustainability of a clinical supervision program that incorporates performance feedback and continuous improvement within a nurturing and ethical environment. The issues discussed will have relevance to a diversity of supervisory models being utilized within behavioral health agencies. This particular Webinar features the Supervisory Interview. It will focus on how to plan and structure supervisory meetings of varying length. Special attention will be given to how corrective interviews can be structured to maximize the likelihood of performance improvement.

This seminar will discuss activities that minimize liability and assure quality service delivery.

3. Boundary Issues in Supervision
This is the third in the Clinical Supervision Webinar Series, hosted by Central East ATTC and facilitated by Steven L. Gallon, Ph.D. These interactive Webinars will highlight issues of critical importance to the establishment and sustainability of a clinical supervision program that incorporates performance feedback and continuous improvement within a nurturing and ethical environment. The issues discussed will have relevance to a diversity of supervisory models being utilized within behavioral health agencies. This particular Webinar features boundary issues in supervision. Supervisors have the responsibility for evaluating job performance, a role that includes extraordinary power and influence over others. Enhancing awareness of how that power can be misused and precautions that can assure sound supervisory ethics will be discussed in this program.

4. Performance Success

Creating an environment committed to continuous learning is one predictor of a superior service delivery system. In this program, we will examine some of the factors critical to successful learning and the supervisor’s role in helping staff achieve greater proficiency.
