The ValueOptions Maryland, Clinical Trainer position is a full-time position with benefits
Responsibilities:
- · Develop and maintain training materials for the Clinical Department and external customers
- · Orient all Clinical Department staff to Maryland’s Public Mental Health System (PMHS) and their role in Care Management
- · Train internal staff (and external customers) on how to use the online utilization management system
- · Assist the Clinical Management Team in the development and updating of clinical workflows and policies
- · Perform audits of Clinical staff regarding compliance with workflows and policies
- · Provide trainings to providers and other customers on medical necessity criteria, appropriate clinical documentation, standards of practice, State of Maryland policies, changes in processes, etc.
- · Flexibility with work schedule to accommodate the schedules of trainees and to participate in infrequently scheduled system testing
- · Provide clinical consultation to staff and customers
- · Be available to assist staff with day-to-day questions regarding workflows, policies, and the utilization management system
Qualifications:
- · Master’s degree in a behavioral health field
- · Valid license for independent practice in counseling, family therapy, social work or psychology
- · Three to five years direct practice experience in a psychiatric and/or substance abuse treatment setting
o Public Mental Health system experience a plus
o Substance abuse experience a plus
- · One year experience in a managed care setting as a clinical care manager
* Prior experience as a clinical trainer and knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
