Substance Misuse Prevention Specialist (Project Coordinator II)

Position Summary: This position serves as the Project Coordinator for the SAMHSA-funded Region III: Central East Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC). You will lead programmatic and administrative coordination for training and technical assistance (T/TA) services in substance misuse prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate training and technical assistance (T/TA) services across HHS Region III.
- Collaborate with National Prevention Network Specialists (NPN) and regional partners to assess T/TA needs.
- Serve as a liaison alongside the PTTC Project Director to federal, state, and local partners.
- Develop training/workforce initiatives and mentor emerging public health professionals.

Technology Transfer Specialist (TTS)
Salary Range: $52,000 – $66,000

Position Type: Full-Time (Through September 29, 2027; potential for extension)
Position Summary: This position works as part of a larger team to develop strategies and programming to address the substance use and opioid crisis in the HHS Region 3 (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia). As part of SAMHSA’s State Opioid Response/Tribal Opioid Response – Technical Assistance (SOR/TOR-TA) program, the TTS will respond to technical assistance (TA) requests and facilitate planning, communication, and provision of appropriate TA with individuals and organizations, such as training and educational programming and matching evidence-based interventions to requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming training and technical assistance (TA) requests assigned by the Regional Coordinator.
- Develop tailored TA plans using evidence-based implementation frameworks (such as CFIR or PARIHS) to address specific needs.
- Analyze the scope and readiness of incoming requests, collaborating with stakeholders to advance selected requests into intensive initiatives that drive organizational transformation.
- Serve as a core resource to support project development and ensure full execution and completion.
